Flowers for Amy Part II!!

Organized by ACLARK.NET, LLC

Flowers for Amy Part II
Hi again!

Below is the original "Flowers for Amy" campaign info. Since then, we have decided to purchase a slightly more expensive but permanent bauble to sit on Amy's desk!

The original campaign was a near success, we got 67% of the $70 via paypal and a couple other donations offline for a total of $64 or so.

We'd like to spend around $100 for the bauble, to give Amy a warm/fuzzy about ZPUGDC through the rest of 2010 and 1/2 through 2011 (in alignment with the fund raising campaign here: http://zpugdc.org/sponsorship).

If it all possible, please consider an offline donation as we get to keep all the money. You can email me: aclark@aclark.net and I will send you our address.

Remember, if you enjoy attending our meetings, and you like the idea that ZPUGDC can do "bigger and better things" in the future, it is very important that you show your financial support for one of the people that is ultimately responsible for our existence and success. Amy does an incredible amount of thankless work to support our efforts. The least we can do is provide a small token of our appreciation! If everyone that has ever gotten something out of our Python-centric meetings gave a $1… we'd have several hundred dollars at least!

Many thanks,

Alex

Folks,

Amy Clark, tireless ZPUGDC, Inc supporter and behind the scenes über hard worker has been working really hard at work on ZPUGDC Inc's non-profit application and I would like to reward her efforts with flowers!

Now, I could purchase a dozen long stemmed Roses from Lulu's florist in Bethesda myself, but I know it would mean a lot more if
it came from the DC Python community at large :-).

In the past few months (and years in some cases), Amy has:

  • Provided logistics support for various technical trainings (i.e. "bootcamps")
  • Found us a lawyer to help us with our 1023 application and conflict of interest clause: http://www.westfeinberg.com/.
  • Provided the lawyers with the information they needed to get started on filling out the application.
  • Edited the first draft of the application and sent it back to the laywers with comments.
  • Created and edited by-laws for our organization.
  • Organized board meetings and kept detailed minutes of these meetings.

If you would like to kick in a buck or two to show Amy how much you appreciate her efforts, please do so now! I'm going to try and get them on the way home tonight…

Alex

P.S. This donation goes to me personally to buy flowers for Amy, not ZPUGDC, Inc (just FYI and FTR).
